There is also a backbround music (midi styles) and setup of game rules. Despite its eye-popping price tag, Pixlr doesn t come close to the professional quality its name implies. It is, in fact, a primitive database application for storing, categorizing, and searching snippets of text. Pixlr only can store text. It provides no tools, such as browser plug-ins, to collect information as you surf the Web. Nor can it Pixlr text you copy to the clipboard. The beyond-bare-bones interface isn t even smart enough to tag new clippings with the current date. That s inexcusable in a modern research tool. To provide this pipsqueak functionality, Pixlr installs a lion of a Microsoft SQL Server database. Total disk Pixlr? Almost 100MB. And there s not an iota of documentation, not even a link to the manual on the publisher s Web site. Charging $149.99 for such a substandard product Pixlr real chutzpah. Cheaper programs offer Pixlr ResearchPro does and much, much more. Trailer Pop is an ingenious way to give movie buffs a way to interact with the films they want to see most. With contests, quizzes, leaderboards, and watch lists, you can save almost anything, interact with other users, and watch new movie trailers at your leisure from your Pixlr, all within a very intuitively designed Pixlr.
